OFFLINE | With the new errata and faq officially first drafted out, what is everyone's opinions and concerns with some rule changes/fixes. It seems they tried to cover as much as they could from the past year to two years of very obvious questions. |

 OFFLINE | FAQ - Draft

Some of them just have to make you stop and go, "well duh".
" Q: Can a Fortification Scout?
A: No."
Some are good to know.
"Q: Do you have to select all targets before any dice are rolled for the weapons mounted on a Super-heavy vehicle? If that is the case, are One Use Only/One Shot Only weapons used up if a previous weapon destroyed the target that the One Use Only/One Shot Only weapon was going to shoot?
A: Yes, to both questions."
So choose who all your weapons are firing at thanks to split fire then start rolling and hope your plans work out, no switching only after initial target unit is dead or no longer a threat.
"Q: When a model has Furious Charge as well as a power fist, does the 2x Strength modification happen before the +1 Strength modification?
A: Yes."
So for a Str 4 model 2x4+1=9 instead of the 2(4+1)=10 which many thought.
" Q: If a Gargantuan Creature destroys a vehicle or other type of unit after striking at Initiative step 1, does it still get to Stomp if there’s nothing left in combat?
A: Yes."
" Q: Can Swooping Flying Monstrous Creatures be hit with Blast or Template attacks that don’t target them, such as scattered Blasts and vehicle explosions?
A: No."
" Q: How does the Invisibility psychic power work in relation to nova and beam powers, and Template and Blast weapons not initially targeting the invisible unit?
A: You cannot choose to target an invisible unit with such attacks, but should models from the unit end up beneath the template, marker or line of fire, then they can be hit using the normal rules. The invisible unit would be hit if it was on the line of a beam, if it was in the range of a nova, or if a blast ended up being scattered onto it. For Template weapons, as long as you follow the rules – ensuring that the template ‘covers as many models in the target unit as possible, without touching any other friendly units’ – then if the invisible unit was also fully or partially under the template, it would be hit."
" Q: If a model has Eternal Warrior and Feel No Pain, can he still use his Feel No Pain roll after failing an armour/invulnerable save from an Instant Death wound?
A: No."
" Q: Can units that are Battle Brothers embark in each other’s Transport vehicles during deployment?
A: No."
Kinda sucks.
" Q: Do blast weapons, regardless of size or type, now hit all models at all height levels under the template? And if so, is intervening terrain (such as bridges or floors) ignored when determining how many hits are caused?
A: A blast marker or template affects all models underneath it, including those on different levels of a piece of scenery. (Designer’s Note: Earlier versions of this rule restricted the effect of blast markers and templates to models on ‘a single level’ of scenery. This created problems with scenery that didn’t have strictly definable ‘levels’ and we decided on this change for simplicity. In addition, we feel the rules now better reflect the explosions being three-dimensional (i.e. spherical and not circular) as well as better representing the deadliness of weapons such a flamers when used in confined spaces.)"
Nice to have a statement on this.
Some could use some added detail like this one in the case of supporting fire or other perks that would allow units not being charged to fire overwatch in support of the unit being charged, especially so if the supporting unit would be in range of the perk but not to actually able to hit with the flamer normally (ie. range or friendly units intervening).
"Q: Does a flamer firing Overwatch have a range?
A: No." |

 OFFLINE | Let's go over a couple.
"Q: When a model has Furious Charge as well as a power fist, does the 2x Strength modification happen before the +1 Strength modification?
A: Yes."
So for a Str 4 model 2x4+1=9 instead of the 2(4+1)=10 which many thought.
The characters str is not 5 at all times....it's 4. I dont see how or why people would think this. As furious charge only happens the first round of your charge. I can understand how people could think the latter but...really....s10 marines? Let alone s8 guardsmen. lul
but...flame throwers...auto hit...it states. there's not a range nor a needed range. I.E. if you're charging a squad from around a corner, well...get ready top take a flame attack.
Over all I am curious to see what they change and what they add. I am still wanting to know more about their "base" debacle and a few others. Witchfire is still funny.
But common sense. And i am GLAD Forgeworld last year blatently stated in their rules, 'Your primary army can not use/allow models from an allied friendly army use their transports.' I.E. Only the primary army that paid for transports (for instance marines allied with mechanicus) can not allow their "battlebrothers" within it's transports (Kataphracii inside drop pods). This....from my understanding and knowledge had been ALWAYS a thing. unless it's like an inquisitor with a marine squad in a marine drop pod for exampole. |

 OFFLINE | Furious Charge
Its understandable though as at the moment a model swings with a power fist on the turn it charged its Str characteristic is 5. Especially so since it was previously ruled with Instant Death if you temporarily lowered a models Toughness you also lowered the threshold for the Strength needed to grant an attack Instant Death against the model (ie. T4 model reduced to T3 would have hits of Str 6 qualify as Instant Death). So like I said, its good to know how they rule this should interact.
Flamers - Overwatch
Yes, template weapons auto-hit on overwatch due to the Wall of Death special rule. If you read my statement though I was saying they could use a statement on how this interacts with special rules like Supporting Fire to cement this as the Wall of Death rule references the auto-hits being granted due to the attackers charging into the template (BrB 173) which isn't happening to units who are only able to fire overwatch due to special rules like Supporting Fire. Not to mention it seems kinda screwed up if a unit in a Ravenwing Support Squadron 24 inches away from the unit being charged can automatically hit with flamers even though they are in no way within range or otherwise would be able to hit the chargers.
Battle Brothers - Dedicated Transports
This was a tournament ruling plain and simple as some allowed it from battle reports I've read. |

OFFLINE | "AP -" is the same as saying that there is no AP on the attack. |
